Heleen Deroo obtained a master degree in Bioscience Engineering from Ghent University in 2016. In 2017, she started working as doctoral researcher in the SoFer research group under supervision of Prof. Steven Sleutel and Prof. Pascal Boeckx (ISOFYS). As part of the FACCE-JPI GreenRice project, her PhD research focuses on biogeochemical processes in paddy soil under water-saving irrigation management.
